Bio
Roy Kitchen is a prime
example that you can make it regardless of your circumstances. He
came from a divorced family, was raised in the projects, having to
go to work to help support his family at a very young age. He found
inspiration in his mother who instilled in him the principles of
hard work, strong character, and to believe in a power greater than
himself. Her support and unconditional love made him the man he is
today.
Roy’s motto is: “If you believe in your dreams and never give up you can accomplish
anything.” This philosophy has helped him to become a better
person and advance his career. His career has gone through many
stages over the past two decades. He is the Division Administrator
of Cardiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; he
also teaches at the University of Central Arkansas in the marketing
department, and most recently he is the author of
Phobia, Five steps to overcoming your fear of public
speaking.
Roy received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of
Arkansas. Roy has been speaking publicly for over fifteen years.
He has the ability to motivate and inspire.
He always dreamed of becoming a doctor or lawyer, never did he imagine
that someday he would become a writer. In fact, when he married
Lynne he confided in her that he did not like reading. He would
read, but only if he needed to learn something. She was a
relentless reader and often shared the details of the stories and
books she was reading. She was well read and well spoken. This
inspired him to start reading. He discovered a great love of reading
and of words.
After seeing his students struggle with speaking in front of the class,
he decided to write “Phobia,” not only to help them, but, to help
others overcome America’s number one fear. In “Phobia” he discusses
five keys to help anyone overcome their fear and learn to speak with
confidence.
He is in the process of writing his next book entitled, “Selling with
Pizzazz.”
